Discovery of the Historical Clinical Campus of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University

Why not take a 30 minutes refreshing walk on the downtown clinical campus of LMU?
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang G. Locher, an alumni director of the Institute of Medical History, will guide you to the sites of three historical buildings. The tour starts at the Anatomy Institute (our venue) and continues to the Surgery Clinic, and Polyclinic in the very close neighborhood. Participants can appreciate the architecture as well as interesting stories about the development of medicine in the capital of Bavaria. Oktoberfest was established in 1810 for the wedding of King Ludwig I to Princess Therese of Saxony. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields “Theresienwiese” in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. In 2017, the 184th Oktoberfest will be held with its traditional opening procession on the 16th of September.
Oktoberfest today is the largest festival in the world, with some 6 million visitors from all around the world.
